Are you willing for God to use you? Then you must be broken. To be broken means to be crucified in the flesh, to lose consciousness of yourself and your reputation. It means to yield yourself totally to the Holy Spirit to the extent that even in the midst of persecution, you still maintain your focus on Christ. If you are too sensitive to persecution and pressure from the world, you are not broken yet. It means you are more preoccupied with carnal thoughts than with things of the spirit. Because of that you always want to be in the good books of men, always afraid to offend people. If you are like that, you are not yet broken and God cannot use you. What God wants from you is a broken and contrite heart. “The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit, A broken and a contrite heart-These, O God, You will not despise” (Psalm 51:17). Prayer O Lord, I come before you as a vessel, an instrument to be used unto honor but I fully recognize this cannot happen unless I am broken. May only your hand break me, may I not be broken by any man but only by your mind that a sweet smelling savor may arise to allow you to use me mightily. Amen
