Armed Robbery On Yearwood Avenue- From the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office One woman awoke to a robber pointing a handgun at her face and ordering her to be quiet Monday morning on Yearwood Avenue, a Rutherford County sheriff’s sergeant said. The robber grabbed a laptop computer from the bedroom of Jade Lehman and fled from the home she shares with four other people, said Sgt. Derek Oeser. No one suffered physical injury. Sheriff’s deputies, MTSU Police and Murfreesboro Police set up a perimeter near the area to search for the suspect. Sheriff’s Sgt. David Foote and Deputy J.D. Davis of the Special Response Team worked with Deputy Josh Gregory and K-9 partner Balu, who tracked the suspect from the house off Old Woodbury Highway and onto MTSU campus where the track ended on Greenland Drive. “They stayed with the track and did a good job in tracking,” Sgt. Oeser said. Detective Phil Brooks said the suspect was described as a black man wearing black clothing and a black bandana over his face. He was of average build. People who have information about the suspect are asked to call Detective Brooks at 904-3051.
