Army organizes Bandipora Premier League Bandipora, January 04: In an ongoing initiative of promoting sportsmanshipamongst the youth of Bandipora, Premier League has been organised under the aegis of Chinar Corps alongwith Board of Sher-i- Kashmir Stadium. A defence spokesman said the tournament is being played at picturesque Sher i - Kashmir Stadium which is located in the heart of the town. The league will see 16 teams playing 18 matches from January 4 to 15. “A grand opening ceremony of the league was held on Sunday which was attended by players of all 16 teams, officers of Army, CRPF, JKP and officials from district administration including DC Bandipora Dr. Shah Faisal. While tossing the coin for the opening match Faisal appreciated the role of Army in its commitment towards ensuring security in the region. He also thanked the Army for the initiative in organising the league. He wished good luck to all youngsters and asked them to play the game in true spirit of sportsmanship,” the statement said.
