Aronia Berry hits the news in the Storm Lake newspaper! Brent and Jan Pingel of Peterson talk about their Aronia Orchard. As of Friday they still had plenty of Aronia to pick and if you need some berries give them a call! Ask them about recipes! The Pingels participated in the Recipe Relay using Aronia Berries where Spencer contributed an Aronia Apple Crisp which will be prepared and served with 22 other Aronia recipes at the Sawmill Hollow Aronia Festival later this month. I have sampled Aronia Crisp, several preserves, a chipotle, a liqeuer and find that this little known native with the highest antioxidants, is full of flavor and versatile in the culinary world!
