Around 6:30 PM, I was driving north on I-85 toward Hearon Circle Exit in Spartanburg. Where I-26 traffic merges into I-85, I got into the left hand lane to allow easy flow of traffic since there were half a dozen cars trying to get onto I-85 from I-26. Well, this man in a souped up green classic car with mag wheels passes on my right and came into my lane nearly sideswiping me and clipping the front right fender. I blew my horn immediately to get him to move over and he shot a middle finger out the window at me. I was doing 55 mph in a 55 mph zone. He must have been doing at least 75 mph. Then on the way home from leaving our grandson at his dads house, I had the cruise control set on 32 mph in a 35 mph zone. I was approaching my left turn onto North Blackstock Road from New Cut Road when a man in a red pickup truck started passing on my left side crossing over a double yellow line and me giving my left turn signal for the upcoming intersection where there is also a traffic light. Did the two men ever read the drivers handbook or perhaps look at it online or whatever people do with those electronic devices, smart phones, or whatever? This may sound ugly but I prayed that Jehovah would send a police officer to stop both of those speeding drivers before they hurt themselves or someone else on the highways. This is the week of the Fourth of July. There will be more traffic than usual on the highways. People should be driving the speed limit or less and really watching out for people with out of state tags on their cars who may not know the area in which they are driving. Be safe -- not sorry!
