Arpana’s “Blue Angels” - : A week long (Oct.27-Nov.3) Emergency Care Workshop for paramedics, nurses and staff; for rural women leaders of self help groups and for police personnel in the area including from the Haryana Armed Police, was held at Arpana Hospital, Madhuban, Karnal, Haryana, India, by what, for us, are a team of “Blue Angels” - experienced paramedics from Northern Ireland. Inspired by Dr. Davinder Kapur, Frank Armstrong, a divisional training officer from Dromore, along with fellow paramedics Sean Gordon, Tracey OKane, Alan McElmurray, Aidan Kelly, Jim OHagan and Joanne Murphy have all paid their own way to India to teach this workshop. They also raised about Rs.15 lakhs (£ 15,000) for important emergency care equipment in Northern Ireland. Arpana extends its deep gratitude to each one of these special, warmhearted friends. This kind of emergency workshop is an urgent need as often precious lives are lost due to non-availability of prompt medical help.
