Arrived home understand to find a nice bright green viper snake on my bed. No idea how it got in my room and i am guessing it had gotten in during the previous night from the window. This would not be my first encounter with snakes here and some are small and deadly but i was thinking i would rather deal with a bear at least i can see them. I am starting to wonder if i have the blessings from Lord Buddha . Often i seem to be in the right place at the right time. While driving by Wat Klong Wan i noticed there was a ceremony where the Thai military and family members were invited to attend celebrating the birthday of the King of Thailand. I walked in behind where the military was sitting and was able to get within ten feet of over a hundred Buddhist monks chanting and was able to take photos and videos. There were numerous military guards surrounding the area and for some odd reason not one made an effort to stop me entering. You would think being the only foreigner on the temple grounds i would have stuck out like a sore thumb. I have yet to ever see a foreigner at the many somewhat odd locations i tend to wander into. Really sort of sad when i think about it. But at the same time a blessing. Because far too often many foreigners dress and act very inappropriately at many of the more popular temple locations such as in Chiang Mai or Bangkok and is getting to be reported almost daily now about their bad behavior throughout Thailand and Laos.
