Arrived in Bermuda yesterday evening, finishing first in the fleet - TopicsExpress

Arrived in Bermuda yesterday evening, finishing first in the fleet after leaving BVI 4 hours late. Non-adjusted finish time -- 5 days, 1 hour, 57 minutes. Had a range of conditions, from surfing on a beam reach hitting 18.6 kts under full rig and jib, to charging close-hauled up steep 2-3 meter seas going 13 kts (before reefing the main twice in an hour), to 12 hours of calms sailing while the rest of the fleet motored and caught up to us... Casualties included the near decapitation of a crew member from a mast winch breaking off under load, and another crews shoulder dislocating from a fall (he popped it back in place immediately). Overall, pretty good first leg, fairly challenging tactically, with good sailing and a ridiculous comfort (3 chefs on board and the boat sails like a dream). Ive written a good page or two, but I might post it on the boats blog, or something like that. Anyhow, 5 days in Bermuda (y)
