Arrived in the Northland to spend Thanksgiving with three sets of our kids and their children. Heading to the coast in a coupla weeks to spend Xmas with the fourth set and their kids. The whole bunch are inarguably top drawer and every one of them give a hell of a lot more than they take. Im grateful that all of them overcame the traditional Sins of their [sic] Father and become the best work their parents will have ever done! Very thankful for them! Im grateful for my wife who has put up with an unbelievable amount of crazy-makin insecurity and neediness born of a husband blown back from childhoods end with a PhD in PTSD. Then, thinking the storm had passed, gave up her friends, support groups, close proximity to her children and grandchildren and followed me into the desert. Im thankful for the support that all yall have given me in reading my rants and ramblings and especially when youve taken the time to comment on them or just note you passing through. Im grateful for you that have been around for years with your love, support, and mostly the TRUST. Underneath the manic fear of caring and being cared for that had me sneaking out of graduations, hating being cradled, and refusing to do trustfalls, you knew their was something that had been lost that needed to be survived. You gave me a reason to keep marching! Im grateful for those that have come more recently into my life. You who are making my last dance the most challenging and perhaps best. If Ive offended it wasnt intended or with malice. As those whove known me will tell you; my mouth is usually wired to my experience rather than my brain. I will not betray your trust and will strive to contribute to your well-being rather than cause you harm. I am grateful for being blessed to be an American. I believe the blood, sweat, and tears that Ive shed are a small price price to pay for living in the greatest nation on earth! Together, with those people that I am working and building relationships with now, and with the continued trust and support of all whose paths Ive crossed, I pledge to give more than Ive ever given to the rejuvenation of this country and the people of these United States of America.
