Arsenal have completed the signing of attacking midfielder Mesut Ozil from Real Madrid, smashing their club record in the process. The 24-year-old German international is regarded as one of the finest talents in Europe and arrives in London after three successful seasons in the Spanish capital. Ozil completed his medical on Monday in Germany, where he is with the national squad, and Arsenal say he has signed a long-term contract. The fee for Ozil has not been disclosed but a figure of £42.4m is being reported. -Ado
