Arsenal in bid for Real Madrid star Breaking News : Arsenal Set To Complete their 2nd signing of the summer within 2-3 days!! WOW this one is brilliant! He will make our midfield unstoppable It’s been widely reported already that Arsenal are interested in Real Madrid’s Angel Di Maria - and now reports have emerged suggesting that Arsenal have made a formal £40m offer for the Argentinian (and Champions League final MOTM) playmaker. Di Maria was strongly linked with a move to Arsenal at the end of the last summer window – but no move appeared. But now it looks as though Arsenal are moving early to try and secure his signature ahead of the World Cup. According to the reliable Sport Witness a close friend of Di Maria’s / probably his agent has spoken to UOL in South America and told them that Di Maria won’t be returning to Madrid after the World Cup and that Arsenal, PSG and Monaco have submitted formal offers whilst Manchester City, Manchester United and Juventus are also all interested. Personally – I’d love Di Maria at Arsenal and the width and pace he brings would definitely be an amazing asset – but I don’t think that Wenger will be spending upwards of £40m on one player in this window - especially when alternatives like Griezmann and (don’t groan but) Vela could well be available for substantially less. I also still haven’t really gotten my head around why / if Real Madrid would want rid of him – but I guess that is a challenge for another day.
