Arsenal v Aston Villa, 15:00 If you are an Arsenal fan there is every chance the beginning of the season may be rushing up a bit after another turgid transfer window has seen the club splash out nothing in signing no established star players, and allowing a couple of senior players to leave. Villa may well see this as an opportunity to get one over on their alphabetical neighbours in the pre-season table, but they rarely if ever win at Arsenal and come in underdogs despite Arsene Wenger’s many woes. At 10/11 with Coral it seems likely both teams will score, and I can see Arsenal having to battle for the win. Mikel Arteta has a thigh injury that could cost him the first six weeks of the season, Thomas Vermaelen and Nacho Monreal are out with back injuries, but there could be a debut for new recruit Yaya Sanogo. Aston Villa midfielder Yacouba Sylla is expected to miss the game and Chris Herd is struggling with a calf injury.
