ArtChallenge: Day 5: Last Day Thank you Helen Breil and Leila Bidler for nominating me to participate in this wonderful ArtChain started by Donna Greenberg! This post brings me back to the beginning - just a year ago - when I discovered polymer. Like many, I started with jewelry as a great way to experiment with different treatments and to become familiar with how the clay moves, stretches, reacts, etc. Soooo fun! So below are just two of the pieces that I made in the first couple of months, and the wave is one of the pendants I made for the Arches Retreat Pendant swap - also fun! As this is my last day, I really want to thank Donna Greenberg for initiating this. Its been fun for me to share both the good and the not so good, as well as the experiments that didnt work out - Im an open book and have no shame. I have learned so much from Donna as well as all of the very supportive artists in the IPCA. I never would have guessed at the world that has opened up to me just from opening a little block of plastic clay. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who has been so kind. Id like to open the challenge to other artists so that they can experience the feeling of putting your stuff out there. For some, its filled with angst - as it was for me the first time I posted, but just as with creating, if you step out of your comfort zone, you just might discover a whole new world that will embrace you. Please, show us what youve got and let others celebrate in your creativity!
