Article III: Executive Board 1. The governing body for College Democrats shall be a seven-person body known as the executive board which shall have general authority and responsibility for the ongoing affairs of the club. 2. The responsibilities, duties, and mandate for the position of President shall involve: (1) Oversee the functions and meetings of the club. (2) Annually register the organization with the College Democrats of America. (3) Carry out the mandates, policies, and directives of the Executive Board. (4) Appoint members to standing and ad-hoc committees as necessary, and be responsible for ongoing communication with other organizations. 3. The duties, responsibilities, and mandate for the position of Vice President shall involve: (1) directing meeting or events in the absence of the President (2) assist the other members of the Executive Board when necessary. 4.The Duties, responsibilities, and mandate for the position of Political Director shall involve (1) Assist the other members of the Executive Board when necessary (2) Carry out the political and electoral duties necessary during the election season, including, but not limited to, organization voter registration drives, carrying out Get-Out-The-Vote initiatives, coordinate activities with other organizations. (3) Overseeing lobbying and other legislative functions. (4) Maintaining contact with local and state politicians. 5. The responsibilities, duties, and mandate for the position of Treasurer shall involve: (1) Assist the other members of the Executive Board when necessary (2) Be responsible for the maintenance of monies, banking, and tax and FEC filings as necessary, maintaining complete and accurate records of all expenditures and receipts. (3) Oversee the fundraising activities of the organization, including, but not limited to, an annual direct mail campaign to alumni and other local donors. (4) shall take and pass the certified Student Association treasurer’s exam. 6. The responsibilities, duties, and mandate for the position of Secretary shall involve: (1) Assist the other members of the Executive Board when necessary (2) Taking of attendance at weekly meetings and events. (3) taking of minutes for each membership meeting and executive board meeting when required (4) maintaining and updating contact list of executive board and membership. (5) Keeping records of organization. 7. The responsibilities, duties, and mandate for the position of Publicity Director shall be: (1) Assist the other members of the Executive Board when necessary (2) Oversee the necessary advertising for meetings and other events. (3) Oversee media relations, including but not limited to sending press releases to the necessary media outlets for important events.
