Artist Biography of artiste peintre kristy kilpatrick At age nineteen her beloved brother asked what she was to do with her life. A voice spoke from within her saying to him that she was to be an artist. The next day he presented to her an artist book, drawing pencils and large artist pad. Time slipped away soon she had joined the 782nd Army Airborne Unit abandoning her inner voice for adventure and personal growth. It was not until 1999 at Hood College Frederick Maryland that she had her first oil paint instruction. Kristy’s very first oil work titled “Lady Bugs” won first prize in the student art exhibit. Original still life consisted of eleven dead lady bugs glued to a royal blue silk flower painted onto a 91cm x 71cm canvas: definite remove from the norm and larger than life.
