Artist vs promoter We hear of bands playing to empty rooms ,should these bands be accepting gigs with zero following ? Should promoters be booking these bands knowing this ? Bands want to play as much as possible to gain said following Promoters ask that they dont play (at least local) 2 weeks before and after said gig Bands expect payment at least expenses Promoter expects to at least break even We all love free entry gigs right Venues expect to be paid or at least profit from the bar Headline bands often provide backline Opening bands and support often leave before the headline band play after using said backline Expect Expect Expect Dont expect the band to fill the venue with adoring loyal fans Dont expect the promoter to fill the venue with adoring fans that have never heard of the band Dont expect the venue to be packed full of adoring music fans no matter what its reputation The only way is Venues Bands and promoters to work together dont ya think
