On one side we find Adventure Time, an animated tv series created by Pendleton Ward and produced by Cartoon Network. The series follows the adventures of Finn, a twelve y.o. boy and his best friend Jake, a dog with magical powers such as being able to enlarge, shrink or turn in numerous forms. On the other side omino71, Roman artist recruited from the beginning in the street scene of the city and grew up among pop underground inspirations that ruthlessly desecrate the mainstream (the infamous Disney characters, for example, but also post ideological icons such as Pasolini or Pertini). The fatal meeting is one of those that remain impressed. The animated series of Ward is unanimously regarded as an amazing and fascinating product that appeals most often to the parents than the children themselves, a sort of Simpsons for children. On this matrix omino71 worked extrapolating the characters of the series and giving them immediately the status of icons, subjected them to a treatment of cognitive acceleration, modifying them, increasing their fantastic features and filling them with tattoos (one of the characteristics of the artist) that draw a decorative texture on the character that, if well analyzed, hits by the proliferation of «signs» under and overground from all the media of the last three decades. But stop! What omino71 does is not an artistic «attack» based on provocation (as in the case of its Donald Ducsk and Mickey Mouses). On the contrary, it is a tribute to the creativity of Ward, in fact, too — in his own way — an artist. Not satisfied with the valuable series of icons of the childish hyper-actuality, omino71 Omino71 let himself go to a further iconic work on the characters, associating each of them (and there are twelve, a mystical and artistic number at the same time) with the same number of icons of music, with couplings born from his sensibility and its cultural background. Thus the neo pop art of omino71 finds its consecration. Suspended between sacred and profane, between under and overground, including mass mediatic influences and the pale diamonds of submerged cultures. A «feel» through art that leaves our eyes overwhelmed by the amount of visual information and our spirit almost gasping between a marvel and the other.
