As America deals with scandal after scandal, Christians are called to take the higher road. Romans 13:1-17 says that we are to be subject to the governing authorities due to the fact that Yahweh is the ultimate and no one is in a position of authority unless He puts them there. If we resist the authority, we resist the ordinances of Yahweh and we bring judgement on ourselves. 1 Peter 1:13-17 says that we are to submit to every ordinance of man for Yahwehs sake. For this is the will of Yahweh, that if we do good we may put to silence the ignorance of fools. Both sections of Scripture say we are to honor our president, as well as our governors and mayors, showing respect for both the office and the person in that office. Lately, I have been and have seen far too many people calling themselves Christian saying things about President Obama that ought not be a thought in our minds, much less posted on Facebook, Newsvine or any of the other social news site. It makes no difference what our priest or pastor says. If we call ourselves a Christian, that means we are an ambassador of Yeshua. Would you allow anyone from another country come in and act in a manner unbecoming to the office? That is what we do when we make comments online, go to rallies, send letters or emails or any other way we can be heard. We are to represent Yeshua to a world dying and going to hell. We are to ask the One who created us in our mothers womb what is in our hearts that is displeaseful to Him. We will be judging angels. Yahweh alone will be judging people. It is our responsibility to Him who made the heavens and the Earth with His outstretched Hand to be obedient. When you read the Scripture I included, dont ask yourself what you get out of it, ask the One who wrote it: what do You want to show me and what do You want me to do? How can I be salt and light? Living water? Your hands and feet? Have a winsomeness about me? Be as wise as a serpent and as gentle as a dove. Pray about it. When Yahweh tells you to do something, dont brush Him off. When you repent of sin, go and sin no more. Yahweh wants His Church to be engaged in our surroundings. Dont be disengaged, because the fields are ready to be harvested and there arent enough workers. When Yahweh asks who will go for Us? Raise your hand and get back in the game.
