As BP continues to work to side-step its obligations, whining now all the way to the Supreme Court in order to undo the settlement that it helped to write, the battle to support Louisiana voters East Bank Levy Authority and its lawsuit against 97 oil companies (including BP) to pay their fair share of the damages that they have caused to area wetlands - Louisianas hurricane/ climate disaster protection buffer - has raged on. Senate Bill 469, which will kill the suit, is now setting under Governor Jindal’s pen. Although Louisiana Attorney General Buddy Caldwell has advised the Governor to VETO this piece of legislation due to the possibility of its adverse effect on the State’s claim against BP, Jindal’s executive counsel has recommended that he sign. Local organizers are asking folks to defend Louisianas communities and Twitterstorm the Capital! Residents are tweeting pics of flooding, BP and Katrina @BobbyJindal until he vetos SB469. Please share this post widely and let Bobby know that you support the people of Louisiana as they hold the oil industry responsible for paying their fair share! Tell him, No Bail Out for BP! #floodjindal #nobpbailout
