As I approach 60, I have a vision. In this vision I see a porch with a rocking chair; an old-timer is telling stories to his grandchildren. He tells the good with the bad, the easy with the difficult, the fun and the sad. He speaks of the ups and downs, hoping to give insight that will spare them some of the pain he has experienced, help them make wise choices. The old-timer has a daily routine, the warm breakfast, the daily medicines, reading a chapter or two of a good book, and then waiting for the life that is swirling around him to slow, to let the riders off to give him a few minutes of their busy day. The old-timer sees his reflection in the porch window. It is I! FORGET THIS NONSENSE, I’M NOT DONE MAKING STORIES!!! You ain’t seen nothing yet; stay tuned! (By the way, my 60th is Dec. 19 in case you’d like to buy me a book or something).
