As I continue to do my daily training and my point of view changes, I see these clips differently each time I watch them. The past and future is like an apparition that cant be caught and held, the same feeling of the futility of trying to do so reminds me of trying to catch my teacher, who seems to somehow float just outside of time and space whenever I try. I could write another sappy post about how much I appreciate and continue to humbled by the his instruction, but Ive realized the only real way to show gratitude is to train hard until I understand the lessons that are being conveyed. Words have their place, but they can also a defense mechanism that get in the way of the art becoming internalized and lived. Ive had students that get very excited and tell me often and loudly how much they appreciate the time and lessons Im sharing, and I see how much more important the act of consistently training in the present moment is by comparison. I hope next time I practice with my teacher , he will get the impression that he didnt waste his time on me. ;)
