As I didnt get a chance to do a weekly card last week, and forgot to do one last night, Ill do two today! This weeks cards are The Fool and The Moon (funny how these keep coming up as Major Arcana cards, just by chance!) The Fool is the beginning, the first card in the tarot, and numbered 0. A bit like a Joker card in a regular card deck. It is the Fools journey that we follow through the Major Arcana. The number 0 has unlimited potential. He looks up, towards the heavens or to Spirit. Traditionally The Fool appears in a card about to step off a cliff - its like hes too busy with his head in the clouds to notice what is around him. The Gilded Tarot depicts The Fool floating in the sky, juggling the symbols of the zodiac with his hoop and staff at his feet - its almost as though hes dropped everything from his mundane and is looking for higher wisdom or meaning. The Fool represents reaching a state of renewal and new beginnings. Its a need for a new journey, one that is completely unknown and possibly risky. Take a leap of faith and trust in Spirit that you will find success if you begin this new journey. The Moon depicts the moon within a sphere, like a crystal ball, with some mechanical workings, a crab, and two howling wolves or dogs below, all sitting in water. There are also two pillars with light emanating from the tops of them. The Moon is a card of reflection, like the Sun, but it is less bright and uncertain. It is about the subconscious, and apprehension/anxiety. You are fearful of your current phase, and of what is to come in the future. You need to go deep within yourself and work through your feelings of anxiety. Once youre aware of what frightens you, you can begin to heal and those fears will no longer have a hold on your life. You also need to be vigilant at this time - things arent always as they seem. The Crab at the bottom represents the zodiac sign Cancer, which is a family-orientated sign - you might find comfort or assistance from those who you call family. You might not have a clear vision of whats ahead, but you need to (like The Fool) take a leap of faith into the unknown. Allow your intuition to guide you.
