As I enjoy my #dinner and a glass of rich #California red wine on a another rainy night in tropical #paradise, I cant help pondering my #life thus far... The job I had until this past March is one that most people I used to know would consider a #dream #job. No questions asked. Yet I gave it up. Do I miss it? - Oh, heavens, NO!!! I love everything I learned while I was at it; the people Ive worked with will always have a special place in my #heart, too. But would I go back if given the choice? - Not a chance!!! Ive been away from my old #office for almost 10 months now. Everything Ive learned about life since I left, and especially about #myself, has supported the choice I made less than a year ago when I told my then-boss that I wanted out. Yes, my old job came with LOADS of #privileges. It came with easy access to the financially #powerful of this world. It came with easy access to #politicians. It came with #business lunches and dinners at the best #restaurants in #Frankfurt and #London. It came with the best boss Ive ever had. And I mean that. I love this guy. He remains one of my best friends to this day. And to be perfectly honest, hes the one person/thing I miss the most about my old job. Yet my question to myself was always: Am I able to make a real #difference in this job? - And the answer, inevitably, was NO!. If I hadnt done the job, somebody else would have. I was replaceable - easily. Thats exactly what happened once I left my spot. I was replaced by a very capable coworker (a few years younger than me, and male, so no danger of going on maternity leave any time soon ;-) ) who continues to have a #passion for the job, and probably will have for as long as he lives. Nothing wrong with that - just not me. Since I left, however, Ive been paying very close attention to my #unique skill set. And even though Ive been living off my savings and #workingForFree for the most part, I am happy to report that I know my place in the world. I know the difference I am here to make: By being myself and living my #dreamLife, I am to #challenge every single one of you to do the same: drop everything thats not you, and #create the life youve always dreamed of. #Namasté. #Love and #light
