As I get older, I am learning a lot, mainly what is really important. I have spent money on presents for others that I was excited about only to find them casually looked at & then set aside. That was disappointing. I wish it were possible to give gifts directly to Jesus, but that just is not possible. He does tell us in His Word that when we give to others who are in need, He equates that as a personal gift to Him. This week I had a Pastor friend (Voltaire Baptiste) in Haiti contact me with a plea for Bibles. I have known him for over 2 years. He is overseeing 6 churches (some in the mts.) & a school. He works at feeding orphans & widows. We have been sending Bibles for the past couple of months, but there is such a big need for Bibles (Creole). They are expensive, but it costs much more to ship them there. The cost of each Bible is $10. They are purchased in Port Au Prince. The Word is so precious to these people. I have purposed to put Bibles in the hands of as many of these people as possible. Our church (Providence Worship Center) has set up a special account for this. This is a gift of eternal value. I am cutting back on one gift from each of my grandchildren & will be donating a Bible in each of their names. It is a gift unto the Lord. If you would like to participate in this, pray about it. I will see that you receive the name of the person who receives your Bible. Christmas may come & go, but this will be a gift that will keep on giving. This is how Blessings are made.
