As I had been posting for several months.. This past Saturday Betty Bonaduce -- the incredibly witty and talented mother of the Bonaduce Family -- was having her first Cabaret concert in 89 years! Yes! Three of her four children - John, Celia, and Danny - came on board the bus that night and sang songs she taught them on long road trips across country. A sweet, funny, and extremely charming moment during the show. Brilliant. (Then this dialogue:) JOHN: We came to California 50 years ago TODAY! We were here a full year before Carl Reiner bought one of my fathers scripts for The Dick Van Dyke Show! Season 5 Ep 15 --WHO STOLE MY WATCH? Driving back and forth from Philadelphia to California was great fun. I really loved those sing-a-long car trips. DANNY: Me too! Hey! That reminds of the time when a skunk stowed away on our bus, or when our sister, Laurie, could hear the Rolling Stones in her braces. BETTY: Wait!! What? That never happened... Danny, sometimes the lines between reality and your TV life get blurred. In reality, with 4 kids, we already had a full house, but in 1970 it was going to become a little more crowded when The Partridge Family moved in. (The entire cast of Bettys show enters. Three of the men are dressed in Jabots ala Shirley Jones & Susan Dey.)
