Trenton dale started running a fever yesterday outta nowhere but, had no other symptoms. So I decided to go to work and hope things dont get worse. I start to run a fever myself about an hour into work but decide to tough it out and volunteer to close. I proceed to have the worst shift of my serving career. Leave work 8 hrs before I have to be back for a double. Check on Trenton this morning and he is still sick but hadnt gotten any worse. Plus he is with his mom Jessie Kinkade and I trust her judgement with our son as much as you can possibility trust somebody. So I go to work with a positive attitude and had a fantastic day going as far as work goes. I volunteer to close which would make it a 14 hour day but Im young Ill survive. Some where around 930 I get a call on the work phone Trentons fever got worse and wont break and he isnt eating or taking fluids they are at the ER. I had several things goin on Pryor to this phone call so in the moment I just tell em Im gonna stay at work and to call if the doctors say its serious and Ill leave. 10 min later I had the thought what if it is serious, what if hes not gonna be okay. Instant water works and u cant wait tables and cry at the same time. Even tho there was a lot going on my Applebees crew had my back and got me outta there. Just wanna say thank you with everything in me to Josh Pearson Jonathan Alex Brown Tiffany Campbell Charle Wilkinson Sabrina Cox Cassiday Chelsea Shaw Dameon Chris Ferguson and anybody else that had to pull extra slack cause I left. Luckily its just a virus, they gave us some antibiotics and sent us home. Now for a 5 hour nap and back to work. Hope I dont trip and break both ankles, wouldnt surprise me tho! #cantsleepventing
