As I lay here in bed, my daughter spooned around me, I reflect upon this past week...one week ago today Mercury Bar West closed its doors for a much needed make over....and instead of getting to help reopen as one would expect being an employee of seven years I was instead gifted with a week off...I realized during this week that it was the first time I have had off to be a mom and only a mom. Over the years Ive only taken days when Rach has been ill or time off to work for MCC, PDXCW and Tales CAP program... But never time just to do this.. Be with Rachael, to drop her to school, to pick her up everyday, to get to talk to other moms, her teachers, playing in the park, art projects... Just quality time!! I would never have given myself this time off given the enormous task of remodeling Mercury Bar .....so a huge thank you to Suki Sin and the staff for all the hard work they have done!! Im sooooo excited to see the new and improved Mercury Bar, its gonna be like starting a new job!!
