As I leave #FantasiaFest , another glorious festival time in Montreal, I feel certainly in the statement that this is the Cheers of film festivals; if there is a more friendly and generous festival staff on the circuit, I have yet to encounter it. The hospitality here is legendary and this year was absolutely top shelf. Thanks for all the smart, engaging and especially fun conversation, the fine food and cafe living, the exposure to some impressive on-the-edge cinema, particularly, the dramatic ones, but also the high-octane pop-Asian stuff. The renovated HALL cinema happily retained its top notch sound which is required to compete with the energy of its crowds. It is a pleasure returning to this festival year after year, seeing old friends and making lots of new ones. Nothing but love and respect.
