Genealogists will understand my pains...I spent 2 years looking for the resting place of my great grandfather James Farrell ...d.1922 - to eventually find he is located 2 paces to the left of the gravestone where the gravedigger is standing (plot A-11) That puts him, with his first wife Agnes Caldwell, at the edge of that bush apron. No stone or marker- they were poor Ayrshire miners... I spent 2 hours wandering around the broken headstones in the high winds, hail, rain and snow at Riccarton Cemetery, Kilmarnock before locating grave A-13. The digger had been busy digging a grave before he could help me locate it with a tattered old plot plan and calls to the bereavement department of East Ayrshire Council. He could have been buried anywhere from Wigtonshire to Glasgow...and all the time he was 100 yards from my grans grave. A certain part of my heart is now at ease, knowing where he is. RIP James.
