As I looked up at Grand Targhee ski area and the Grand Tetons - TopicsExpress

As I looked up at Grand Targhee ski area and the Grand Tetons through a break in the clouds and the steady rain this morning, I saw SNOW on the ski mountain from midway on up to the top! So the snow level, I would guess, is at about 8800 feet this morning. August has been a rainy month here, and the green fields and lawns look as they do in the Spring. These August rains have wreaked the barley and wheat crops here as the grains have begin to sprout on the stalks. Bad news for beer barley. Lets hope that the Fall harvest weather will be decent for the potato crop. The early arrival of this cold front could spell the end of Summer for us :-( Lynyrd Skynyrd with other bands will play a free outdoor concert at the Snow King Park in Jackson this afternoon at 4 pm to celebrate the town of Jacksons 100 year anniversary... and it looks like rain all day today! Bummer! No motorcycle rides over the Pass for me today. However, I just might be able to finish planting a tree or two in the dug holes in the yard this afternoon if I have low winds and light rain. Happy Labor Day, ya all... and remember to support our Labor Unions who made this day possible !
