As I mentioned earlier, we survived the great storm of 9 November - TopicsExpress

As I mentioned earlier, we survived the great storm of 9 November 2013 from about 5pm till sometime after midnight. As proof of life, below is the crossing the Arctic ceremony. We have crossed below the 71st line of latitude On the way up they dropped ice cubes down the back of your neck. I missed it as I was on the front deck. This time as we passed the line I wondered if it would be boiling water down the neck, but no. Instead it was a teaspoon of cod liver oil, which was then followed by a teaspoon of Cloud-berry wine to take away the taste of the oil. Not being much of a drinker I dont know which one tasted worse. The spoon is yours to keep as a souvenir. I wouldnt have done it otherwise. Dr John has just finished his last lecture and it was all about the life of Patrick Moore. He was lifelong friends with Patrick and the reason for him getting into astronomy. He is one of Patricks estate executors, as is Brian May from Queen and John is currently going through all of Patricks possessions cataloguing everything. John is an amazing speaker and brings so much passion and interest into his talks. He doesnt use a single note but speaks from pure knowledge and experience and instils in everyone an almost insane enthusiasm for whatever subject he talks about.
