As I noted over a decade ago in The Internet Debacle, we artists have become software, just a convenient way to sell new hardware/technology. This is a terrific article, but I wish someone would begin talking about the omnipresence of music and how thats devalued it, too. (Not to mention creating huge audio fatigue.) Supermarkets, buses, offices, lobbies, even zoos and parks. Music is playing constantly; we have no choice but to let it go in.
