As I prepare for the long journey back home to Chicago after two weeks of being in the warmth of summer in Australia, I had hoped my preaching and ministry had blessed someone in this community and culture that is quite different from my own. I was blessed that the pastor of the church where I preached sent me this note he received from a parishioner: Hi Father John, I just had to send you a brief message to let you know how much I enjoyed Fr. Maurice Nutts homily on Saturday night. He certainly has a gift for preaching. I did in many ways have a difficult week, not much light only a bit of darkness... I felt so good after Mass!!! Please give my thanks to Fr. Maurice. Do hope the start of the school year will be kind to you?? As Always, Love, M God is showing me more and more that we share a universal human experience and Gods Word speaks to the heart of all humanity. I praise God for using me during my time in Australia. Farewell, mates! Its time to go home...
