As I read the bible and take a look at todays Christianity I see a big difference. I see so much of how God interacted with his people.I see the power of the holy spirit clearly showing up. When I look today I see a lot of gimmicks going on and people saying the power of God fell in the services. I see the disciples praying and the ground shook, today I see prayer and people falling asleep. I see fire coming down from heaven in the bible, and I see people using glitter and saying gold is falling in churches! I see people being pushed down, blown on, waved at, and I see people falling down, saying it was the power of God. So the power of God has been reduced to someone falling on the floor....really? People ask me why miraculous things dont continue to happen today? As I ponder that question is very obvious what the answer is. #1 we are doing so many gimmicks in church that God doesnt want any part of it. If were gonna fake his power, why would he show up? If all we want is too impress people, God doesnt need to show up, were doing a pretty decent job at faking it. #2 were not doing anything for him to show up. The bible says theyd holy spirit is our comforter. As we look at shows like preacher of L.A. these preachers look very comfortable already. Why would you need a comforter if your already comfortable? Why do you need the spirit of God to show up, when your using your own slight of hand to entertain the crowds. People dont want to be changed, they want to be entertained! We want to run around, fall, use all types of tricks in exchange for money. Sundays best isnt about anointing, its merely about show casing, and exploitation of gifts. David played a instrument until the demons in Saul resided. Today its not about God, its about flossing and parading the gifts we were born with. Entertainment is easy, you turn it on and off when you want, but the anointing takes a process of first, living Holy. You dont have to do nothing for a gift, it dont cost you anything, but the anointing? Thats gonna cost you everything! One is natural, while the other is spiritual. One activates the flesh, the other touches the heart and soul of others. We see a preacher on tv that interrupted prayer because he wanted to continue to sing, it was about him, not about paying for peoples deliverance! The bible says the anointing destroys yokes and removes burdens.we see a lot of singing, and preaching, and people getting in lines, but the power of God is suppressed, by the vanity of flesh! Oh yea, we got a lot of movement in the church, but a rocking chair got a lot of movement, but its not going anywhere! The bible says hell fight our battles, the rain he doesnt is because were conceding to the enemy and wont stand up and fight anything, or anyone! He said he would protect us, but we are already safe in our churches with police guarding us. He said the Holy spirit would bring his word to our remembrance, but we dont study the bible, so we dont have anything for us to remember! Were not making a draw on Gods power, because were to busy faking his power! When we begin to go out and reach the lost, go into darkness with the light within us, thats when he will do whatever it takes to assist us in doing his will. As long as we are self sufficient, why would he allow his power to flow? Those that worship him, must do so in spirit, and in truth! As long as were using deception, and gimmicks the power of God shall remain dormant in our ministries!
