As I sit here and try to come up with the words on how I want to explain how the appointment with the oncologist went today, it amazes me to even think that in the world of my husband having cancer, that today was a good day. After all the tests for the gathering of information have been completed, we were told that Tom is in the EARLY stages of stage 3 of small cell lung cancer. With that being said, the cancer is confined to the one location. This type of cancer makes Tom not a candidate for surgery so he will be on a four month treatment of chemo/radiation mixed with preventive radiation after the four month time period. Our {BRILLIANT} doctor is extremely optimistic about the treatment being able to kick (my words) this cancers ass and so that is why today was a good day. Our family continues to be grateful for all the overwhelming support that our family and friends having given us in the last couple of weeks. I dont how we would/could ever have the opportunity to thank or pay back what we have seen from everyone. Love and hugs to all, Anne #teamfeirick
