As I sit here drinking probably a few too many beers I am reminded of the time I served in the Marine Corps now almost 3 years passed my date of getting out I am well past my rebellion stage and back normally into civilian life as they say,but I am sitting in reflecting I miss quite a few things I miss the loyalty of the man to the left and right of you that could never be matched in a bar fight or in friendship though many years, I miss the hardship that you put in day in and day out of which at the time you called bullshit but later realize whether you like it or not is whats keeping you on your toes at tiptop, My time in man I did not do it all but goddamnit I did some and a little bit showed me that every day is a blessing and in our worst we cheered and came to the best never once fearing death as everybody does now in normal life when youre in that moment youve got it all man you have got it all There is no fear because everyone around you is in the same boat boasting and giving it their all knowing that you all happy to others back to the very end if it ever came to it There is a quote that comes from band of brothers from a German general to his men after they been been defeated but goes across the board to everybody thats even had a taste It goes as follows We have fought bravely and probably for your country, We are a special group, We found in one another a bond, That exist only in combat, Among brothers weve shared foxholes and each other in dire moments, Weve seen death and suffered together I am proud to have served with each and everyone of you, you deserve happy lives full of love and peace, I guess what Im trying to say is with this post We all go our separate ways after the Marine Corps but I have proved to myself no matter how much you try to leave it behind you never can, it was always worth it and I would do it again in a heartbeat and I will never forget it Because this truly gave a part of my life meaning as I hope it did all of yours
