As I sit here on the Eve of the first OCR World Championships, I contemplate the race coming up, and I realize I have been training for the biggest race of my life… Again! I have said so many times in the past years, “I am getting ready to run/participate in the biggest race/event I have ever done in my OCR Career. Wintergreen Super Spartan, SC Spartan Beast, Bone Frog Challenge, GoRuck Lights and Challenges, Spartan Vermont Beast, etc. etc. etc. But now, this truly is, the biggest race of my career. I am going up against some of the best in the World! Not just up and down a coast or across the mountains, but… THE WORLD. There are people traveling from Australia, Sweden, South Africa, Germany, and beyond. I am so very humbled by the magnitude of what is approaching and the depth of talent that I will be competing against. Just the thought of the dialects and languages that I will be experiencing alone is mind-boggling! ( I have been trying to learn “On your Left” in as many languages as possible, so I can move over when being passed! LOL ) My only regret is that I will not be sharing the course with my Honey Badgers. But, I am SUPER proud of Team Honey Badger heading down to South Carolina to compete in the Spartan Beast and out to California to run the Super Spartan out there. Many of them, my incredible Fiancée being one, going after their Tri-Fecta. There will even be a shot at a Double Tri-Fecta! Pride and admiration are not enough to describe my feelings for my Team! To my Team... Racing or cheering from the sidelines... You are my friends and my family. I love you all like you were my blood. Be safe, look out for each other and give those trails Hell and bring back the Bling!
