As I sit here reading my Bible, I am reminded of the Holy Spirit and the power he has over a five year old. Last evening, my five year old received a spanking for something he did very wrong. But because I love my kids and want them to understand the depth of their sin, they sometimes need this form of consequence. Pain teaches us. I know pain teaches me as I walk this journey called life. Pain has caused me many times to repent and turn back towards God. Pain is uncomfortable and it is hard at the time. I love my sweet boy, and he loves me. I am so thankful that moments after receiving his spanking, he came back to me and apologized. We then prayed and thanked God for his forgiveness of sin.
