As I think back now at the recent Board of Trustees meeting, I - TopicsExpress

As I think back now at the recent Board of Trustees meeting, I thought I might let you know my thoughts - the Good, the Bad and the Ugly First - the good: Nine alumni trustees stuck together to continue seeking the truth and fighting to get to the bottom of how the NCAA was able to have President Erickson sign this damaging document. We voted against the proposed governance package and were successful in getting some of the bad stuff out of it. The original proposal called for the abolition of Roberts Rules of Order, excessive power in the BoT chairman, and making the vice chairman ex officio on every committee with voting rights. We were also successful in restoring the three gubernatorial cabinet members (Education, Agriculture, and DCNR), full voting rights as required by statute and requested by Governor-elect Wolf. I think it is good that President Barron has offered to review the Freeh Report on his own even though we failed to have the Board vote on the Lord resolution to do the very same thing at the last meeting. Next - the bad: We failed at tabling the changes in the governance proposal until the next meeting as requested by Senators Corman and Yudichak Lastly - the ugly: The most important thing to us was to have a full discussion on what the NCAA emails suggested was akin to extortion regarding President Erickson signing the consent decree. The emails seemed to indicate there was collusion among the NCAA, The Big Ten, and Louis Freeh. It was tabled until the January meeting with the nine of us voting in the negative. I know you are as frustrated as I am But I do believe we are making progress, slow as it may seem. Keep the faith. After all ,WE ARE----- Bob
