As I thought about it flying home from the AQHA convention, I am afraid that the executive committee will once again ignore or table the show committees recommendations on adding the two new ranch classes because of this idea that they are going to turn the ranch versatility shows into something new where each class is judged individually. Charlie Hemphill wandered through the meeting at one point and noted that this idea is still very much in the works in an alliance with SHOT. I think that is a good idea, but personally, I would also like to see these classes offered at regular shows if the show management want to add them. Please see attached a draft of the letter that I propose to send to AQHA. For those who want to support it, please send me an email at hardsa@aol. Please put Request for Ratification of the Proposals from the Western and Timed Events Subcommittee of the Show and Pro Horseman Committee on “Ranch Classes” in the subject line . Write me a sentence or two saying that you would like to see these new classes approved now for use in any type of AQHA show format and add your name with your membership number. The last two points are the most important, ie. I must have your name and membership number. I will collect signatures until next Sunday. Please pass this along to anyone that you think might be interested.
