As I took my uniform off for the last time as a member of the full time staff at the S.C. National Guard last Friday I did so with tremendous gratitude for the opportunity to have worked with the BEST sons and daughters of Mother Palmetto. To ALL of my coworkers at the state headquarters, particularly LTC DeeBo Kelly, MAJ Thomas A. McDermott, SFC Carla Walker, and SGT Tracy Robinson, I cannot adequately express what my time there with you has meant to me. You all made it a joy to come to work and have taken care of my family and me like only those who are family can. It has been a great experience to work for the Sevicemembers and Families of the S.C. Guard full time for the last two years and I look forward to continuing to serve you all as a weekend warrior JAG in the years to come. - CPT Gates.
