As I understand things. or on my mobs support for Greens and the ALP. Socialist Alliance wants to replace our current corporate economic/political system that is based on concentration camps, greed, fear and environmental destruction with one based on human rights and social justice, ecological sustainability, and common management of resources and transportation. We use honest propaganda, public protests,support for industrial action, AND the electoral system to obtain these goals. We currently have two of our members in local government, and have assisted other similarly minded individuals become elected. In certain electoral systems one must vote for all the candidates for the vote to be valid. We choose to support candidates and parties that come closest to our aims first, thus where we have no Socialist Alliance candidates we support those of the Socialist Party and CPA candidates, before the Greens, and Greens before Labor, Labor before the Coalition, and the Coalition before parties that are based upon the fear & hatred of Muslims, Arabs, Africans, Immigrants generally, etc. Labor is indistinguishable from the Coalition in countless areas, especially in regards to foreign affairs and trade, defence and its mistreatment of refugees. However in those few areas Labor differs from the Coalition, such as Medicare, Labor is clearly the better option. In 2010 the federal elections saw Parliament at a knife edge. The Greens did not like the prospects of a Gillard government - but they liked the prospects of an Abbott led government even less. The Greens never were part of the Gillard/Rudd Government but did promise to support Labor in confidence motions. The attacks of the Abbott Administration against education, health, and environment, prove that the Greens did the right thing 3 years earlier.
