As I was binning back to school overstock in lawn & garden, I remembered one of my favorite moments with my grandpa. We drove to West Virginia to visit him and Brittani Bland and it was snowing like crazy outside so we were all snug and cozy in the house together. Grandpa and Sherry Holmes were in their normal spots...the kitchen table drinking an unlimited amount of coffee. Me, Larissa Holmes, Levi Holmes, Brittani and Leon, who was just a baby and attached to my hip were in the livingroom drawing and watching a movie. We kept getting strong wiffs of dead animal every couple minutes. We searched everywhere for the culprit but couldnt find it. We were all standing in the doorway between the livingroom and kitchen basically scratching our heads in discouragement when the heat came on and we all scrunched up our noses. Above our heads was the register and one of us yelled there it is..we all looked up and seen the tiny foot of a little baby mouse. Ill never forget the laughter that erupted that night. Who needs material items to remember somebody by when memories are far more special and will never fade like a picture, rip like a shirt, get lost like jewelry or break like knickknacks. Ill keep these memories and stories and their last words where Ill never lose them until god calls me, my heart ♡
