As Im sure most people know, I am an employee of the north london flying school and therefore I obviously wouldnt want to see it close, thats probably what most people think when they hear me talk about the closure. However I only became an employee in the cafe because of my son. He wanted to see the planes, he wanted to fly, he was eleven years old! Three years later I have seen my son transformed from a lonely, bullied little boy with minimal self confidence to a proud and ambitious young man with a sense of direction in his life and ten hours of flight already under his belt. He has been encouraged at every turn not only by the instructors at the north london flying school but by the club members, the private owners, the maintenance team, other students and both Haim and Sue. The north london flying school is far more than somewhere to learn to fly, for my boy it has made his dream seem real. My concerns are not for myself but my son and the many other youngsters who give up their free time to work in the cafe on the flight exchange and earn their own dreams. Ive been lucky enough to work with many of them and I am so proud of all of them, each and every one will find this closure a huge stumbling block! More than a few will probably find it impossible to continue.
