As-Salaam Alaikum, One of the attributes of Allah is The Living. Allah is alive and all else owes its existence to Allah. The great scholar, Ibn ‘Ata Allah, mentions in his Hikam (Aphorisms), “There are two great blessings that are indispensable for everything in existence and essential to all of creation: the blessing of being created, and the blessing of being sustained in creation.” We were created by Allah and He alone sustains our existence. However, the mere fact that we are alive is meaningless if our hearts are dead. Our hearts are only alive if they are infused with the remembrance of Allah. It is said that the likeness of one who remembers Allah and one who does not is like the living and the dead. Proclaim: Subhanallah! Al-Hamdulillah! Laa Ilaaha illa Allah! Allahu Akbar! Laa Hawla wa Laa Quwwata illa bi’llah! Bring your heart to life with the remembrance of Allah! “…Know that Allah revives the Earth after its death! (Qur’an 57:17)” Our hearts are the dead earth and the remembrance of Allah is the rain that brings them to life. Let it Rain! Imam Zaid Shakir
