As Sheriff of Greene County I have assured that we be transparent, forthcoming and continually encourage citizens be engaged with your government, since we work for you. We have overwhelmingly enhanced citizen involvement, crime prevention measures and programs for all ages, especially our youth, in Greene County. Police officers routinely intertwine professions to serve as counselors, teachers, mental health workers, crisis intervention specialists and ultimately public safety officials. As you listen to the facts of this case, several professionals possessing these individual disciplines of training saw fit to summons our school resource law enforcement officer. And as a result of the actions in question no student, school staff, school resource officer or the child was injured; therefore, our main goal of public safety was preserved, allowing the parents to assume control of their child.
