Heres a short video of Hypsophrys nicaraguensis in its natural habitat in Laguna Xiloá, Nicaragua. The first part shows breeding pairs above the sandy substrate, where they dig caves to deposit their (non-adhesive) eggs. Note the many entrances into these caves. The second part shows pairs guarding their fry in the rocky habitat. Here they suffer from competion by Neetroplus nematopus, which has led to the altruisitc behaviour I showed in my other video:
