As a HUGE fan of the show as a boy, I was very, VERY skeptical when it was first announced that a theatrical reboot/reimagining was being made. Much to my surprise, I ended up really enjoying this film. The casting was pretty much spot on...not only is the chemistry great, but each of the four leads manages to capture the feel of the original character while bringing something new to the table as well. For better or worse, much like the television show, the films plot is rather flimsy and takes a back seat to developing these characters and building chemistry between them...but the action is so well done and over the top, just like the original TV show, that you really dont miss it. My only real complaint here is just how ludicrous and outlandish some of the action scenes are(I wont even comment on the tank scene), but even that seems to somehow be in keeping with the over the top nature of the source material...I mean, were talking about a show where they could spray hundreds of rounds of bullets and yet somehow never hit ANYTHING. lol Simply put...this is a perfectly cast, well acted, check your brains at the door and just enjoy the show thrill ride that is a blast to watch and manages to stir up some nostalgic feelings for those of us who grew up loving the TV show. For what it is...its great. Im still hoping for a sequel as I would love to see these guys in action again.
