As a Realtor your main function is to manage your contracts to a successful closing. Scheduling home inspections, coordination of repairs, guiding someone through the loan process, communication with lawyers, paralegals, loan officers etc. It’s a journey that requires proactive monitoring until the last document is signed. When time is not on your side you turn to the ones who can get the job done. During May I had such a scenario. My client was selling his home and it was determined there was a extensive mold problem in the crawl space that had to be remediated. This is not a one day fix! I said, “GOD please get Ben Shelton from Elevate Church to answer his phone when I call him”. He did and the clock was running. Mr. Shelton has a special certification dealing with mold problems and he has the expertise to boot. No question my go-to guy. He assessed the problem and engineered a solution. He did a fantastic job presenting the facts to the home owner so he could make an informed decision. Shelton’s team headed up by Joshua Shelton, owner of “On Fire Painting” began the mold remediation process. I must note that the contract stated to REMOVE the mold, not TREAT the mold. Big difference! Each process completed was evaluated before being cleared to move to the next. This crew moved over 20 tons of sand into a crawl space!! This project was evaluated by a third party home inspector and it passed with flying colors. In the end everyone was happy. Job complete ahead of schedule. The moral of the story is when you’re up against the wall, ask God to have the people you trust answer the phone! Just like Ben Shelton did! If any home owners have questions about remediation issues please contact me and I’ll gladly point you in the right direction.
