As a columnist for The Comics Journal, one of my jobs is to prepare a piece of art exactly 350 pixels wide by 270 pixels high. This art is used as the accompanying image to promote the piece of writing. While most writers simply grab a panel or zoom in on a piece of comic art, I obsesses on this art, regarding it as a sort of mini-cover to my piece. Since I tend to write about stuff only 12 people in the world will recognize, I think its important to entice the reader into my essays with this art. I created several different versions of this title card for my 2-part tcj Framed! column, Figuring Out George Carlson. Heres some of the rejected title cards.
